BLACK JOY

I have been watching Black Bodies bent into the pavement for sometimes now,
and I have not lost my Hope.
Despite the rockets, I have not lost my ability to smile.

I'm still standing here, doing my best to sum up spirit back each time.

To realize, My Black does not belong sitting in the dirt but deserve to Blue.
We are calling to an overwhelming Celebration.

To flat Twitter with Our Melanin pictures.
#Black Girl Magic with their edges slay
#Be Careful Black Boy Joy coming with the Kupe Challenge.

Our Black is the Best trending topic to touch social media.

With Afros and Cornrows glowing on our crown,
Showing that Our Black don't Crack,
We are born Beautiful, made of a Black Woman's hand

That's why we always Shine like a Black Woman's Smile.

To mount your Black Flow Magic to the Mental,
To walk pass the mirror and to realize each time,
There is God in There

To remind yourself that Music has always been Our Saving Grace,
Songs past down like Scriptures,
Like Sunday service never ended .

We are the Chorus, the Hallelujah
We through our hands up, in Relief and Rupture

Tears getting down Our Faces and Tribes because We fall down but We Get Up.

We watch Black Children find themselves,
Even when there is a game of Hide and Seek,
We find Home in each other.

Call Them Sisters
Call Them Brothers
Call Them Home instead of trash
Call Them a Family which you are Not Afraid to hang around
We are the seed glowing to legacy.

Fighting and Rooting for our Right to Leave
We are the linear that Cannot be broken
A Dynasty that Cannot be dismantle
A History that Cannot be taken away from Us.

For Century, we were not allowed to celebrate the Life we were living.
We have been writing to much about Our Fight,
That we forgot how to speak about our Present.

We have been searching everywhere,
For happiness and Black Joy
While it has been inside of Us for the entire time

Black Joy, it's being Loud and Gay for No Reasons.
Black Joy, has given Black Boys Flies and New Meaning.
Black Joy, it's Writing this Poem.
Black Joy, it's Rising against the case of Genocide.
Black Joy, it's an Uncompromising Revolution.

Black Joy, it's
Black Women
Black Men
Black Lesbians
Black Queers
Black Transsexuals
Black Transgenders
Black Immigrants

Black Excellence is already the Real definition of Excellence.

Say We don't Die
Tell Them We Won Die
And if We go Us
The We Gonna Be Alright

Black Joy
Black Joy
Black Joy.
